What is Personal Training and Exercise?

Personal Training is the one on one guidance thru an exercise routine which may use resistance bands, weight machines, free weights, cardiovascular machines, stretching, and/or balance and coordination skills. These sessions are typically led by certified personal trainers and may last between 15-60 minutes.

What Does Certification Mean?

Make sure that your trainer is certified. Many organizations offer personal training certifications. Desirable certifications require 2-4 years of formal education in a health-related field, at least 100 hours of previous field experience under the supervision of an exercise professional, and a written and practical examination. Highly recognized organizations having these criteria include the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
